IV Caucasus Mathematical Olympiad is open!

More than 140 mathematicians from all over the South of Russia and ten countries gathered today in Adygea to participate in the IV International Olympiad "Caucasus Mathematical Olympiad". This year, schoolchildren represent the following regions and countries:
- Republic of Adygea;
- Republic of Abkhazia;
- The Republic of Azerbaijan;
- Republic of Armenia;
- Astrakhan region;
- Republic of Belarus;
- Republic of Bulgaria;
- Volgograd oblast;
- The Republic of Dagestan;
- The Republic of Ingushetia;
- Kabardino-Balkar Republic;
- The Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Republic of Kalmykia;
- Karachay-Cherkess Republic;
- Krasnodar kray;
- Republic of Crimea;
- Mongolia;
- Rostov oblast;
- Sevastopol;
- Republic of North Ossetia-Alania;
- Stavropol kray;
- The Republic of Tajikistan;
- Turkish Republic;
- The Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Chechen Republic;
- Republic of South Ossetia.
Head of the Republic of Adygea Murat Kumpilov opened the Olympiad and wished the participants good luck.
Chairman of the Coordination Council Daud Kazbekovich Mamiy also congratulated the participants on the start of the Olympiad and noted that mathematics and the Caucasus Mathematical Olympiad know no borders.
By tradition, the opening ceremony started with the anthem of the Olympiad performed by the student musical theater of ASU "ART-Riton". The lyrics for the anthem were written by a jury member, senior lecturer at the Chernyshevsky Saratov State University Oleg Dmitriev, and the music was written by the Adyghe composer Aslan Gotov.
After the parade of flags of the regions and participating countries, the delegations took turns lighting up the branches of the mathematical tree, the symbol of the Olympiad.
The day ended with the social night, during which the participants took part in various competitions and got to know each other a little better.
